Small Talk: I've been playing badminton so much in recent months that I'm getting a new badminton racket. FYI, I've been using my friend's racket since the past few months and I seriously think it's time to get my OWN racket.
So, yeah, gonna grab it on Saturday ;)
Before I start anything here, I'd like to thank the Friday Night Fever committee for the invite. Appreciate that and love you all.

As I mentioned earlier, Friday Night Fever wasn't a blast, but let's not ruin the party. So...
Last week's Friday Night Fever was real HOT!

So HOT it almost turned my hair red and got my skin burnt.

For those who're wondering, LCDS stands for Literature, Cultural & Debating Society and it's a school-based club of SMK Sultan Sulaiman, one of the only two schools in Terengganu that was named as the Cluster School by the Malaysian MOE last year.

The Grand Annual Dinner is an annual event and it is always the club's last activity of every year to act as the curtain closer. For it is the curtain closer, it is always huge and fun and everybody loves it. I mean, almost?
Isn't fun to have the chance to attend to functions like this with your friends and you can see everyone dressed nicely - the handsome guys look even smarter in suits whilst the girls look elegant in their dresses. And that makes the whole event so meaningful, you can't help but to take photos here, there and everywhere.

For the very first time in the club's history, the dinner's entrance fee was priced at RM40 per head. When I first joined the club and went for the Annual Dinner for the very, very first time, I got myself the entrance ticket for only RM25, if my memory doesn't lie.

It was in year 2003 and maybe the petrol price did play a role in this? Well, maybe not. Maybe it was because of that name - Ri-Yaz Heritage Resort & Spa, which has probably made all the differences.
Forty Ringgit and it disappointed me because the hall was terribly tiny. It's like a room where people get to hold press conference to proudly announce that they'll have three wedding receptions. Like Mawi did.
However, something did fill me with joy - the FOOD.

They served almost everything at the buffet tables - from appetiser to main course to desserts. On the main course counter, they have chicken, beef, vegetables, fishes, EVERYTHING! But uhh.. No pork lah.

There's light fruits and salad at one end and awesomely yummy desserts at another. The great variety of food almost got me frantic. Needless to say, I had a great time feeding myself an utter scrumptious dinner.

Besides the appetiser, main course and desserts counters, they even have their very own 'noodle station'. Compared to the Noodle Station that Chung, Michelle and I had blogged (and gave thumbs down) about, the one at the Annual Dinner was way better, and fun too!
The performances wasn't very bad, although some were nothing more than un-entertaining. Jim, the club's year 2008 President made a few appearances on the stage throughout the night and his solo-guitar-playing-and-singing show was the best until his brother turned me on and made my night even more delightful.

According to Ms Nora (the teacher advisor of the club), Jim's brother has been practising a lot since the past few months to make sure he doesn't fail his performance during the Annual Dinner. He didn't, at first. Instead, the other fler did.
He, like his elder brother, played a solo with a guitar. Let's call him L. So, L was performing this song called Knockin' On Heaven's Door of Bob Dylan, and when he was playing and singing so passionately (you call that jiwang in Malay), someone from the crowd shouted "What you knocking lah?"
Immediately, he stopped the show and looked at the table (where the question came from). I was shocked and stunned, but not amused, yet. He replied, "Mende??" In a loud tone. It means "WHAT??" in Terengganu Malay. That was funny. But wasn't the funniest part yet.

The funniest part came right after that. After saying that, he looked a little frustrated and stepped off the stage without continuing his show. He made me laughed like an insane fler when he said "Bodoh mung" (In Malay, it simply means 'you are stupid') to that culprit who sort of ruined his show whilst he walked down the stage.
I regret for not recording his show. lol. No offence because that was mere coincidence, no one planned that, but that was epic.

Ong and I had a great time there. Next was the Best Dressed and the Prince & Princess awards.

Best Dressed couple were handpicked by Ms Nora whilst the Prince and the Princess of the night were voted out by the guests. The theme of the night was 70's and Khairina and Daveshankar wore just the right dress to deserve the awards.

Danica, the other ex-member VIP who attended the Annual Dinner after Ong and I presented the winners their...uhh...band. And she almost tangled Dave with it.
The night would have been incomplete without the Prince & Princess Of The Night award thingy. And so those attended voted for Benson and Yen Fern. *applauses*

...who actually look good together, don't they? =D Anyway, congratulations to Benson and
With the performances, awards, prize-givings and lucky draws over, the function eventually came to an end and cameras started flashing here and there, in and outside the tiny hall.
But things worked differently, when Steven's around.

We did it in the washroom and with some screws loosen in the heads.

Like this.
Well, year 2008 has ended for LCDS, just like that. All the best to the club's new committee and do make us, the ex-committee and ex-members proud. Hopefully year 2009 will be a better year for all of us, including you, including me.
